Veterans Stadium was built in 1970 as a multi-sport stadium to house the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. Located in South Philadelphia and surrounded by parking lots, it was the modern successor to Shibe Park and Franklin Field. For over 30 years, fans packed into the coliseum-like stadium with the most notorious "boo-birds" occupying the infamous 700 Level at the top.
